Erik Schlake offers services in murals, woodgraining, marbling and faux.

In all his projects, Erik uses professional grade products and has received training in order to use proprietary products not available to the general public.

“Keeping up with new paint technologies and new products gives me a very broad range of professional products in order to achieve a wide variety of finishes. There is no product line that can do it all, and I like having a full spectrum of paints and plasters to choose from to help me meet the client’s needs”

Mural work can be done in both interior and exterior applications. Interior murals can also be done on canvas, and installed on site. This technique, called  marouflage, has been around for centuries, and is a durable process that allows the artist to employ additional techniques that would not be practical onsite, as well as less interruptions for the client.

Woodgraining can be achieved through a variety of techniques, using paints, glazes and techniques that have been used for hundreds of years. Very rarely are gel stains used, as they have a tendency to fade in exterior applications. Using traditional techniques, the look of wood can be acheived in ways that are realistic and true to the long history of the art form.
